All Carifit baby carriers are suitable for use with newborns to toddlers from 3.2kg-20kg

We recommend that your baby be carried facing inwards in the baby carrier until around five months of age. Before this age, baby’s neck muscles, spine and hips are not sufficiently developed.

There are four key developmental markers to look out for and all align in most babies at sometime between four and seven months of age:

1. Head and neck strength and stability.

2. Torso length: your baby should be tall enough to ensure no fabric covers their mouth.

3. Eyesight: your baby's field of vision extends rapidly from four months+.

4. Social and emotional readiness: your face is very reassuring to your baby when they encounter new situations, noises or people. Facing outwards removes your face as a reference point for your baby. Outward facing is great but don't feel the need to rush!

Absolutely. There’s tonnes of research around contact naps and the benefits for both the baby and the wearer. Let them nap – always facing inwards – and enjoy!

For as long as you like. The reality is most babies have a reason to come out of the carrier fairly regularly for a feed, to play, for a bath etc. but as long as you and your baby are comfortable and carrying at an optimum position it is safe to wear them in your carrier.

All of our carriers are machine washable at 30°. Clip all buckles up before washing and air dry afterwards.

Don't worry about finding our classes too difficult: you can tailor your workout to your capability and our experts will ensure you always use appropriate progressions or regressions to suit your postnatal recovery stage for each workout.
